I had the pleasure of Djing with Markem X at a little weekly club in and around Long Beach called "Middle Earth" along with David Alvarado and Frank C in '93. Attention Josh & Jason... I cannot begin to thank you guys for you contributions to this extraordinary website. This tape was a life changing experience for me back in those days and having this tape again brings so much joy to me. This era was the greatest in our generation of electronic dance music in my view. This tape is the true essence of acid house and I am truly grateful to you guys for posting this up. Again, many thanks..

@Josh..... Didn't Middle Earth have numerous locations? I remember promoting for it when they moved to OC locations, and attending it at various different locations for a while. It was the weekly that eventually moved locations :) It was a great club though. The loops they had were rad. Not to mention the dj's.
Josh McClintock: I had the pleasure of Djing with Markem X at a little weekly club in and around Long Beach called “Middle Earth” along with David Alvarado and Frank C in ’93. The guy that threw the parties name was Tom...forget his last name. Really motivated cool guy,he was really good at finding locations. One of the really cool thing about the party was that it WAS in a different location every week. Tom also dj'd as well (very well too I must say) The loops were done by M and C productions which was my best friend Jim Hamner and Mark Veltman. They did visuals at many parties....the best one in my opinion being Technoflight at the Sprucegoose where they had all there loops over the huge hull of the actual Sprucegoose (the one loop that sticks in my mind the most is where Catwoman is licking Batman) They were very talented. Mark Veltman went on to become a very succesfull fashion photographer. You can see some of his work at MarkVeltman.com

random comment: what was up with shivas erotic banquet. never seen such a diverse crowd. i dont know if it was the really really good acid or was there something else with that party ie; tim leary, all those topless girls dancing, bikers, hippies. It was part of a trilogy I know. Actually went to the others saturnalia, aphrodites temple. Maybe the names give hint. Anyway who threw em. Any input appreciated
