This was the first in a series of 3 EPs, released in (I believe) mid 1993, from Pete Houser’s Bassbin Twins project. The sound, to my ears, is distinctly early 90’s San Francisco in the best way possible: A collection of great hip hop, soul, reggae and house samples, arranged nicely over lovely mid tempo choppy breakbeats.

I’ve had quite a number of requests for this Eli Star mixtape. It’s called Omega, it was released in 1994, and it’s great! Some mixes are a joy to listen to because of the nostalgia associated with them, and some mixes still just sound great, this mix is in the latter group. I love that Eli tended to play a lot of good music that other DJ’s didn’t.
